Ph D Aleksandra Gostyńska

In 2013, Dr. Aleksandra Gostyńska graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Poznan University of Medical Sciences (PUMS), defending her Master thesis entitled: Development and physicochemical characterization of porous implants in situ with nitric oxide donors carried out at the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology of PUMS. The experimental part of her thesis was carried out at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lorraine in Nancy, France, and the presentation of its results allowed her to take the second place in the 18th Competition of Master’s Theses of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Dr. Aleksandra Gostyńska completed post-graduate studies in Strategic Marketing on the Pharmaceutical Market at the University of Economics in Poznan and in 2018 obtained the title of specialist in hospital pharmacy. In 2019, she obtained a doctoral degree in pharmaceutical sciences by defending her doctoral dissertation entitled Compatibility studies of selected chemotherapeutic agents with mixtures for parenteral nutrition conducted under the supervision of Prof. Anna Jelińska at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the PUMS.

For many years, Dr. Gostyńska successfully combined her professional work with scientific activity. She gained her experience in the hospital pharmacy of the Heliodor Swiecicki Clinical Hospital of the PUMS, gaining knowledge and practical skills in the field of clinical nutrition, medical devices and the preparation of sterile drugs, including cytotoxic drugs and parenteral nutrition admixtures. She also participated in dozens of clinical trials conducted in the hospital as a pharmacist in the team of the principal investigator. In 2015, she was a tutor of interns participating in the project of the National Center for Research and Development entitled Strengthening the professional competences of students in the field of Pharmacy of the PUMS. In the years 2014 – 2018, she conducted classes for PharmD students, and since 2014 she has conducted lectures and classes for participants of specialization courses in clinical pharmacy, hospital pharmacy and general surgery in the field of parenteral nutrition and medical devices. From 2016, initially as an external stakeholder, and from 2021 as a permanent member, she participates in the works of the Pharmacy Program Council and the Faculty Team for the Improvement and Quality Assurance of Education at the PUMS.

Dr. Gostyńska participated also in the Erasmus plus program both as an internship supervisor of Dr. Halyna Hryhoriv from the Pharmaceutical University in Kharkiv, Ukraine and as an internship participant at the Max Delbruck Center for Molecular Medicine in Berlin, Germany (December 2021). Dr. Gostyńska has participated in two research projects so far. First, carried out on behalf of Baxter Polska Sp. z o.o. entitled Development and validation of the method of preparation of selected parenteral drugs in individual doses using the Repeater Baxa pump, and the second SONATA funded by the National Science Center entitled Optimization of treatment of systemic infections in parenterally fed patients – studies of drug stability and compatibility. Currently, Dr. Aleksandra Gostyńska is the principal investigator of two grants, MINIATURA entitled The influence of polyphenols on the physicochemical properties of intravenous lipid emulsions used in parenteral nutrition financed by the National Science Center and the LIDER entitled Nanoemulsion for parenteral nutrition – an innovative pharmaceutical formulation with hepatoprotective properties financed by the National Center for Research and Development. In 2022, Dr. Aleksandra Gostyńska was a participant of a 2-month internship at Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, USA under the Open Research Biopharmaceutical Internships Support (ORBIS) Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) project as part of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Program Framework Horizon 2020.
