MS Joanna Kuźmińska
Joanna Kuźmińska, M.Sc., is a graduate of the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznan. From 2020, she is a Ph.D. student at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the Poznan University of Medical Sciences (PUMS). During her doctoral studies, she conducts research with the use of organic synthesis methods in order to obtain fluoro-derivative analogs of curcumin. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the synthesis and characterization of the obtained compounds using the techniques: NMR, DSC, MS, or IR as well as chromatographic methods to determine the purity and stability of the obtained compounds. Joanna Kuźmińska during her master’s studies broadened her skills by participating in many courses and training, including From the laboratory to the industry and English in the chemical industry financed by the European Union. Her knowledge of the NMR technique and the use of spectroscopic methods such as 31P NMR, 19F NMR, 13C, HSQC, HMBC, COSY, and NOESY has been significantly expanded by completing the 2D NMR techniques course organized by the Department of Biomolecular NMR and the NMR Laboratory at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznan. Joanna Kuźmińska participated in training in the field of ISO standards, such as Proxy / Internal Auditor of the ISO 9001 system, organized by the Center for Qualification of Quality Products SIMPTEST Sp. z o.o Sp. k. and The management system according to the PN-EN ISO / IEC 17025 standard in the research laboratory organized by Lab ISO Consulting.
She also developed her synthetic skills during a student internship at the Center Tecnològic de Catalunya in Tarragona, Spain. Joanna Kuźmińska participated in many professional pieces of training, including Drug Discovery & Medicinal Chemistry; Large-Scale Flash Separations: Sample Loading, Method Development, and Scalability Issues; Chromatography Masterclass I: Basic Principles. Recently, she expanded her scientific interests to the subject of nanoformulation, which is confirmed by the fact that she is the head of the doctoral school grant entitled The use of polymer systems as carriers of medicinal substances from the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Joanna Kuźmińska is also the contractor of the OPUS grant financed by the National Science Center entitled Curcuminoid and polyphenol conjugates as potential therapeutics for the treatment of urinary tract cancers. Since 2022, she has been also involved in the research works of the LIDER grant entitled Nanoemulsion for parenteral nutrition – an innovative pharmaceutical formulation with hepatoprotective properties financed by the National Center for Research and Development.
